Organizational Context
The United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) provides retirement, death, disability, and related benefits to over 90,000 beneficiaries and 130,000 participants across 25 member organizations. UNJSPF-Pension Administration, with approximately 282 staff across four duty stations, offers career growth opportunities within the UN system. This role is within the Records Management and Quality Control Unit of the Operations Support Section.
Job Purpose
This role supports the Chief of Unit in developing, implementing, and evaluating projects related to pension and benefits administration. The incumbent will monitor and analyze project development, identify issues, and propose solutions. Responsibilities include researching and analyzing information, assisting in policy development, and preparing various written outputs such as background papers and reports. The position involves designing data collection tools, analyzing responses, and tracking project milestones. A key focus will be on projects involving document ingestion, intelligent document processing, quality control, and workflow modernization, requiring coordination of testing, validation, and implementation readiness. The role also provides user input for system design and enhancements, ensuring alignment with UNJSPF regulations and procedures.
Responsibilities
Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of assigned projects, monitoring and analyzing program development and implementation. Review documents, identify problems, and propose corrective actions, liaising with relevant parties and tracking follow-up actions. Research, analyze, and present information from diverse sources, and assist in policy development through issue analysis and research. Undertake survey initiatives, design data collection tools, analyze responses, and track project milestones. Prepare written outputs including background papers, analyses, reports, and studies. Provide substantive support for meetings, including agenda preparation and document distribution. Collect and analyze data to identify trends, using data visualization for planning and reporting. Collaborate on projects for document ingestion, intelligent document processing, quality control, OCR/QR code integration, and bulk document transmissions. Coordinate operational testing, workflow validation, issue resolution, and implementation readiness. Recommend solutions to the Chief of Unit and provide user input for system design and enhancements, ensuring compliance with UNJSPF regulations.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of responsible experience in business or public administration, finance, human resources, or law is required. Experience in employee benefit schemes is essential. Desirable experience includes guiding junior staff, working within the UN common system or international organizations, and data analytics.
