Job Purpose
This role serves to provide crucial administrative and substantive support for the implementation of a project aimed at enhancing the capacity of Asia-Pacific governments in producing and utilizing relevant statistics for policymaking and monitoring. The project focuses on fostering dialogue between national policy sectors, statistical offices, and SDG implementation bodies to develop comprehensive monitoring frameworks for evidence-based decision-making. The Project Assistant will contribute to the development of project materials, communication, design of project products, and overall administrative support, ensuring the effective execution of project activities under the guidance of the Statistical Data Management Unit.
Responsibilities
The Project Assistant will be responsible for developing substantive materials and communication products for the project. This includes the design of various project outputs to support the initiative's goals. Additionally, the role will provide essential administrative support for the smooth implementation of project activities. The incumbent will work under the guidance of the head of the Statistical Data Management Unit (SDMU) within the Statistics Division, contributing to the project "Enhanced capacity for monitoring of integrated and inclusive policies for sustainable development in Asia and the Pacific."
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of national and/or international experience is required in areas such as information management, project management, data analysis, econometrics, or statistics research. Previous professional experience in project management is essential, and prior experience with the United Nations is considered desirable.
