Russian/English-speaking Graphic Designer

Organizational Context

The UN Secretariat's Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) Secretariat supports Parties in combating desertification, restoring degraded land, and achieving Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN). The Interregional Group "Central Asia–Russia" (IRG) facilitates knowledge exchange and regional cooperation on sustainable land management. This role supports the IRG's communication efforts.

Job Purpose

The Graphic Designer will produce professional layouts and print-ready designs for key UNCCD publications, including the Global Land Outlook Regional Report for Central Asia, the Handbook on Land Degradation Neutrality Assessment, and a report on Carbon Farming. The role ensures these materials meet UNCCD branding and publishing standards, preparing them for dissemination to Parties and stakeholders at COP17. The designer will also create supporting communication materials such as infographics, graphs, and potentially video/audio content, and may assist with social media promotion, all in Russian and English.

Responsibilities

Design and produce professional layouts and print-ready files for UNCCD publications, including the Global Land Outlook Regional Report for Central Asia, Handbook on Land Degradation Neutrality Assessment, and Carbon Farming report. Develop various information, communication, and training materials, including infographics, graphs, and audio-visual content. Ensure all designed materials adhere to UNCCD branding and publishing standards. Prepare publications for dissemination to Parties and stakeholders. Potentially support UNCCD communications on social media platforms. All design work to be completed in Russian and English.

Work Experience

A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in media, graphic design, and/or publishing is required. Experience in producing professional layouts and print-ready designs for publications is essential.
