Organizational Context

The United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) in Algiers, part of the Department of Global Communications, serves as the primary source of UN information in Algeria. It promotes understanding and support for UN activities by disseminating information, engaging partners, and connecting the UN with the local population. This internship supports these communication efforts.

Job Purpose

This internship aims to support the communication activities of UNIC Algiers by producing visual content, assisting with graphic design, and covering events. The intern will contribute to enhancing the visibility of UN messages, campaigns, and initiatives through compelling visual materials. Working under the supervision of the Officer-in-Charge, the intern will gain practical experience in international communications and visual content creation within a UN context. The role is crucial for disseminating UN information effectively to a local audience in Algeria, fostering public understanding and support for the UN's mission and objectives.

Responsibilities

Assist in covering UN events, campaigns, and activities through photography and basic videography. Support the selection, editing, and organization of visual content to align with UN communication standards. Create infographics, social media visuals, and other basic graphic materials. Aid in the layout and design of communication products such as presentations, flyers, briefs, and simple reports. Help maintain and update photo and visual archives. Adapt visual content for various digital platforms and social media channels. Perform other communication-related tasks as assigned to support UNIC Algiers' outreach efforts.

Work Experience

No professional work experience is required for this internship. However, a field of study closely related to graphic design, photography, video, or digital communication is necessary. Applicants must demonstrate computer literacy in standard software applications.
