Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to strengthen the integration of gender equality and the inclusion of youth and other underrepresented groups across the ITC project portfolio. The consultant will provide technical expertise in developing mainstreaming documents, organizing and facilitating capacity-building events, and enhancing monitoring, evaluation, and reporting frameworks. The role contributes to ITC's commitment to gender equality and inclusion by embedding these principles into programme design, implementation, and reporting, ensuring that diverse groups are effectively supported and represented in trade and development initiatives. The ultimate goal is to foster sustainable and inclusive development solutions that benefit all, particularly marginalized communities.
Responsibilities
The consultant will conduct assessments to identify barriers and opportunities for gender and youth inclusion in programmes, developing technical guidance documents like toolkits and checklists. They will provide technical input on project documents to ensure inclusion is embedded from the outset. Responsibilities also include designing and facilitating capacity-building activities, such as training sessions and workshops, for staff and partners. Furthermore, the consultant will strengthen gender- and inclusion-sensitive monitoring and evaluation tools, revise indicators and data collection templates, and analyze programme data to improve reporting on gender and inclusion results. This involves preparing background papers, contributing to progress reports, and consolidating findings into a final consultancy report with actionable recommendations.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in gender mainstreaming, inclusion of youth and other underrepresented groups within an international development context. Demonstrated experience in business/private sector development, trade, women's economic empowerment, and youth inclusion is essential. Experience in designing and facilitating training sessions and in monitoring and evaluation is also required.
Skills
Strong analytical, research, and writing skills; ability to translate complex concepts into practical guidance. Excellent facilitation and communication skills for multi-stakeholder engagement. Strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks. Collaborative working style. High level of cultural sensitivity and experience in multicultural environments. Fluency in English is required; working knowledge of French is an asset.
