The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority. This internship is within the Life Cycle Initiative unit, a multi-stakeholder partnership fostering sustainable development through life cycle thinking and knowledge sharing. The unit is hosted by UNEP's Industry and Economy Division in Paris, focusing on high-impact sectors.
Job Purpose
This internship aims to support the Life Cycle Initiative's work on Life Cycle Thinking (LCT) and Sustainable Consumption and Production. The intern will assist Programme Officers in various high-impact sectors, including Buildings and Construction, Mining and Extractives, and Textiles. The role contributes to advancing understanding and application of LCT among decision-makers and experts, facilitating access to life cycle knowledge, and supporting the Initiative's strategy. The position offers a 6-month duration, with options for in-person in Paris or remote work, contributing to the unit's projects and outreach efforts.
Responsibilities
Support the mainstreaming of life cycle thinking and approaches in key sectors like Building and Construction, mining, and textiles. Conduct research, data collection, and analysis on life cycle thinking and related topics as needed by Programme Officers. Assist in research and coordination for outreach to partners and members, aligning with the Initiative's strategy. Provide daily support for project activities, including drafting documents, minutes, and presentations, and maintaining member lists. Contribute to communications efforts, such as social media, online material presentation, and website updates. Aid in the logistical preparation of meetings, events, and webinars, including document preparation and summary reports. Facilitate cross-unit collaboration and perform additional tasks as assigned.
Work Experience

However, applicants must be pursuing or have completed a degree in a field closely related to the internship's focus, such as environmental science or sustainable development. Applicants must meet the specified academic enrollment or completion criteria.
