The International Trade Centre (ITC), established in 1964, is a joint agency of the UN and WTO focused on promoting sustainable trade and exports from developing countries. ITC aims to enhance business competitiveness, accelerate economic development, and contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. This role is within the Women, Youth and Vulnerable Communities (WYVC) section of the Division of Sustainable and Inclusive Trade (DSIT).
Job Purpose
This consultancy supports the "Enhancing Skills and Enabling Financial Inclusion for Young Women in the Creative Economy" project in Uganda, which aims to engage over 84,000 young women and enable 40,000 to access dignified work. The role is crucial for supporting programme performance tracking, partner reporting, data quality assurance, digital MEAL systems, and donor reporting across consortium partners. The consultant will ensure accurate data collection, system operation, and reporting to advance gender-inclusive skills development, financial inclusion, and entrepreneurial growth in the creative sector, aligning with Uganda's development vision and the UN SDGs.
Responsibilities
The consultant will provide essential support for the project's Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) and data management functions. Key duties include supporting the implementation and operation of the digital MEAL system, serving as a focal point for consortium partners, and ensuring data accuracy and completeness. Responsibilities also involve monitoring data quality, resolving inconsistencies, and supporting the testing of system functionalities. The role includes tracking programme results against workplans, providing technical support to partners on MEAL systems, and organizing training sessions. Additionally, the consultant will maintain records of programme activities, support reporting for donors and corporate requirements, and contribute to performance analysis and knowledge product consolidation.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in monitoring and evaluation, data management, programme reporting, or programme coordination is required, preferably within donor-funded programmes. Experience in project management and Monitoring & Evaluation is essential. Experience working in Uganda is also required. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including external agencies and consortium partners, is necessary.
Skills
Strong analytical, reporting, and data quality assurance skills. Ability to manage multiple reporting timelines and collaborate with consortium partners. Proficiency in project coordination, monitoring, and evaluation. Experience with digital data collection and management platforms (e.g., Airtable, Jotform, Power BI, Kobo, DHIS2) is desirable. Knowledge of the creative industries is a plus.
