Interns contribute to the organization's Strategic Plan 2026-2029, which centers on equitable prosperity, environment and climate action, and preparedness/recovery. This position in Bangkok directly supports country-level programmes, project monitoring, research, and communication, enabling the intern to contribute to critical urban development initiatives and gain practical experience in a global context.
Responsibilities
The intern will primarily support country-level programmes, focusing on key areas such as project/programme monitoring, reporting, and evaluation, alongside research, publications, and communication. Specific duties include assisting in the comprehensive planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of country-level projects and programmes. The role involves supporting crucial inter-agency collaboration and fostering cooperation between country teams, addressing both development and humanitarian issues. Interns will contribute to the administrative, budgeting, and other management aspects of new and ongoing projects, including tracking and responding to funding calls and supporting resource mobilization efforts. Furthermore, responsibilities extend to enhancing information and knowledge management within the office. The intern will assist in preparing various documents, such as concept and position papers, background documents, project documents, and publications. Communication tasks involve drafting web stories and managing website content. Finally, the intern will support the preparation, implementation, and follow-up of various meetings and workshops, undertaking other assignments as required for the development and implementation of the country office's work programme, ensuring a broad exposure to programme management functions and contributing to the overall effectiveness of UN-Habitat's initiatives.

Professional work experience is not required for applicants to the UN Internship Programme. However, a field of study closely related to the internship's focus is necessary.
Skills
Required skills include computer literacy in standard software (Microsoft Office Suite), a keen interest in UN work, and the ability to interact successfully with diverse cultural backgrounds.
