Organizational Context
The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) promotes sustainable urban development globally. The Andean Countries Hub supports urban initiatives in the region, focusing on participatory governance and sustainable development. This role is within the FIDUS Project, aimed at strengthening local capacities for sustainable urban development in Argentina, linked to the energy sector.
Job Purpose
This consultancy provides strategic communications leadership for the FIDUS Project, focusing on sustainable urban development and innovative financing in Argentina and Latin America. The purpose is to design and implement an integrated communication, visibility, advocacy, and stakeholder mobilization strategy. This will strengthen the project's positioning as a flagship initiative, support institutional partnerships, increase visibility of outcomes, and enhance engagement with key stakeholders. The role also aims to mobilize technical and financial opportunities for project sustainability and scaling, contributing to knowledge management and policy dialogue.
Responsibilities
The Senior Communications Analyst will lead the design and implementation of a strategic communication and stakeholder engagement plan for the FIDUS Project, aligned with the New Urban Agenda and SDGs. Key duties include developing communication strategies, key messages, and narratives; preparing communication materials for various audiences; producing presentations, briefs, and reports; and supporting donor engagement. The role involves coordinating communication activities, managing visibility for events, documenting achievements, and providing strategic advice on communication and stakeholder engagement. Additionally, the analyst will support partnership building, contribute to fundraising materials, and enhance resource mobilization efforts, ensuring all activities align with UN-Habitat standards and principles.
Work Experience
A minimum of eight years of experience in strategic communications, institutional positioning, stakeholder engagement, and public affairs is required. Experience supporting communication, visibility, and advocacy strategies for development cooperation, sustainable development, urban development, governance, or public policy is essential. Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, partnership development, and resource mobilization is also necessary.
