Organizational Context
This internship is with the UN Voluntary Trust Fund for Victims of Trafficking in Persons (UNVTF), managed by the Co-financing and Partnership Section within the UNODC in Vienna, Austria. The role supports the UNVTF's mission to assist victims of human trafficking, operating under the Division for Policy Analysis and Public Affairs.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this internship is to provide support to the UN Voluntary Trust Fund for Victims of Trafficking in Persons (UNVTF) in its communication and programmatic activities. The intern will contribute to highlighting the UNVTF's impact, showcasing the work of its grantees, and promoting best practices in victim assistance. This role involves developing communication materials, managing digital platforms, assisting with proposal cycles, tracking grantee progress, and providing administrative support. The internship aims to offer practical experience in international public service, specifically within the UN system's efforts to combat human trafficking and support its victims.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include developing diverse communication materials such as articles, human interest stories, and video scripts to showcase UNVTF's impact and grantee work. The intern will manage digital communications, including social media content and website updates. Assisting in the full cycle of the UNVTF Call for Proposals, from preparation to screening, is crucial. This involves tracking grantee progress, monitoring reporting compliance, and serving as a point of contact for grantees. Additionally, the role requires coordinating administrative tasks like travel arrangements, meeting scheduling, and procurement support, as well as maintaining programme-related records and databases. Support for planning and executing UNVTF events and assisting in the preparation of project reports and funding proposals are also key duties.
