Job Purpose
This internship supports the ITC's Youth and Trade initiative, specifically contributing to the Ye! Community and the Youth Ecopreneur Programme. The role aims to empower young entrepreneurs by reinforcing their skills for employability and entrepreneurship. The intern will assist in managing the Ye! Community's online presence, curating resources, facilitating connections for members, and supporting the execution of webinars and training. Additionally, the intern will provide support for results-based management, project design, and the coordination of the Youth Ecopreneur Programme, including its events and outreach activities, contributing to sustainable economic development and trade.
Responsibilities
The intern will support the Ye! Community and Youth & Trade social media profiles by developing communications materials and curating content. Responsibilities include maintaining community resources, updating website content, and facilitating connections between members and external opportunities. The role involves assisting in the coordination of webinars, mentoring sessions, and virtual training, as well as researching best community practices. Furthermore, the intern will contribute to periodic reviews of youth economic empowerment projects, conduct research for new project interventions, and support project managers in coordinating youth-focused initiatives. A key aspect involves actively assisting in the implementation and coordination of the Youth Ecopreneur Programme, including supporting bootcamps, accelerators, awards, and alumni activities, as well as planning and organizing events.
Work Experience
Previous experience or internships related to trade-technical assistance and/or international development are desirable. Experience in project management and communications is also considered an asset. The ability to work independently, learn quickly, and proficiency in Excel are expected.
