Organizational Context

The United Nations Secretariat, specifically the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Mexico City, is seeking an intern. This role supports the Communication Unit's objectives, contributing to the OHCHR's outreach and public engagement efforts within Mexico.

Job Purpose

This internship aims to provide practical experience in visual design and communication within an international human rights context. The intern will support the OHCHR's Communication Unit by creating multimedia content, managing social media, and assisting with media monitoring and campaign activities. This role is crucial for enhancing the visibility and impact of the OHCHR's work in Mexico through effective communication strategies and engagement across various media platforms.

Responsibilities

The intern will assist in the production of multimedia content, including graphics, videos, and GIFs. Responsibilities include supporting the monitoring and updating of social media channels, and aiding in the measurement of the OHCHR's impact across traditional, digital, and social media. The role also involves providing support for presentations, press conferences, and dissemination campaign activities. Additionally, the intern will undertake other tasks as required to support the Communication Unit's objectives.

Work Experience

While not strictly required, desirable experience includes audio, video, and photography editing. Knowledge of social media measurement and administration is also preferred. Basic knowledge of traditional and digital media monitoring is beneficial for this role.
