Job Purpose
The Vehicle Control Officer is responsible for overseeing efficient transport operations to support Field Office activities. This involves planning, controlling, and coordinating the allocation and use of agency vehicles and drivers in a cost-effective manner. The role ensures efficient record-keeping through fleet management systems, maintains the care, custody, cleanliness, safety, and effective utilization of vehicles and fuel, and enforces movement discipline. The officer also manages vehicle-related incidents, insurance, licensing, and armored vehicle transportation programs, contributing to the overall operational efficiency and safety of UNRWA's transport fleet.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include planning and coordinating vehicle and driver allocation, operating schedules, and usage for cost-effectiveness. The role involves monitoring and executing ERP and fleet management systems (Feetwave, Fleetlog) for accurate record-keeping and efficient fleet utilization. The officer ensures the proper care, custody, cleanliness, safety, and effective use of vehicles and fuel, enforcing movement discipline and investigating safety breaches. Responsibilities extend to preparing investigation reports, managing vehicle losses, damages, and insurance claims, and preparing survey reports. Additionally, the role involves maintaining records for drivers, administering transport permits, managing vehicle licensing, and supervising armored vehicle transportation programs. The officer also assists in budget preparation for vehicle control operations and oversees the surveying and disposal of old fleet assets.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of relevant experience in logistics, vehicle, and transport management is required. Experience in managing vehicle insurances, overseeing inspections, and handling vehicle registration and disposal processes is also necessary.
