Job Purpose
This role supports the Field Human Resources Department within UNRWA, contributing to the effective management of human resources for Palestine refugees. The position is crucial for maintaining accurate HR records, facilitating recruitment processes, managing personnel contracts, and ensuring efficient data entry and reporting within the Human Resources Management (HRM) System. By handling routine HR tasks, the incumbent ensures that HR services are delivered efficiently, supporting the overall mission of UNRWA to provide essential services and assistance to a vulnerable population. The role plays a part in upholding the operational integrity of the HR function, enabling the agency to continue its vital work.
Responsibilities
The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for maintaining and updating HR records, ensuring accuracy of forms and tables, and initiating corrective actions. This includes processing documents and certificates through the HRM System. The role involves drafting routine correspondence, completing Personnel Action Forms, and compiling information for statistical and periodic reports. Key duties include supporting recruitment activities such as advertising, screening, administering tests, and preparing recruitment packages. The position also handles personnel contracts, verifies requests, obtains approvals, and manages data entry for payroll and entitlements. Additionally, the assistant is responsible for mail management, document reproduction, filing, and assisting staff with HR-related queries. Data entry into the HRM System for payroll and movements, and participation in performance management activities are also required.
Work Experience
Requires successful completion of full secondary education and a two-year post-secondary diploma in human resources management, Business Administration, or a related subject. Proficiency in spoken and written English and Arabic is also required.
