Communications Intern

Organizational Context

The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), through its Subregional Office for East and North-East Asia (SOENEA), supports regional cooperation and sustainable development in North-East Asia. SOENEA, located in Incheon, Republic of Korea, serves as a multilateral hub for six member countries and the Secretariat for NEASPEC.

Job Purpose

This internship aims to provide practical experience in communications and multimedia production within the UN Secretariat's ESCAP SOENEA office. The intern will support regional cooperation and sustainable development initiatives by creating visual communication materials, assisting with digital content, and contributing to outreach activities. This role offers an opportunity to develop professional skills in a dynamic international environment, contributing to the visibility and effectiveness of SOENEA's work in North-East Asia.

Responsibilities

Design and produce various communication materials including flyers, posters, factsheets, and infographics. Prepare PowerPoint presentations and other communication products. Create short promotional video clips and event highlights. Support the development of website and social media content. Assist with photography, video editing, and general multimedia production. Ensure branding and layout adhere to UN visual identity guidelines. Support outreach and visibility activities for meetings and regional forums. Perform other related duties as assigned to support the office's objectives.

Work Experience

No specific work experience is explicitly required, but practical experience in communications, graphic design, or multimedia production would be beneficial. The internship is for 3-6 months, full-time, and unpaid.
