UN-Habitat Lebanon, in coordination with UNICEF and UN Women, is implementing a project funded by the UN Trust Fund for Human Security. This initiative focuses on building local capacities through a Training of Trainers (ToT) program on participatory mapping, profiling, and community action planning across four regions in Lebanon. The role is based in Beirut.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to provide technical leadership in developing and delivering a comprehensive Training of Trainers (ToT) curriculum and materials for a project focused on localized human security approaches. The incumbent will design and facilitate four regional ToT workshops, targeting representatives from municipalities, NGOs, and universities. This will build local capacities in participatory methods and community engagement to inform local decision-making. The role also includes providing post-training coaching to support the cascade of knowledge and ensuring the quality of field outputs. The ultimate goal is to empower local actors with effective community development tools and strategies.
Responsibilities
Develop a detailed inception report outlining the work plan, methodology, and timeline. Create a comprehensive ToT curriculum, including session plans, trainer manuals, participant handbooks, and field tools for participatory mapping, profiling, and community action planning. Design assessment instruments such as pre/post tests, fieldwork verification checklists, and cascade monitoring templates. Deliver and facilitate four regional 3-day ToT workshops, ensuring high-quality adult learning delivery. Provide on-site coaching to participants for up to 5 days to support cascade trainings. Submit all required deliverables, including the inception report, curriculum/toolkit, ToT reports, coaching report, and a consolidated final report. Hand over all editable training materials to UN-Habitat.
Work Experience
A minimum of seven years of professional experience in participatory community development, mapping/profiling, or local governance programming is required. Additionally, a minimum of five years of experience in designing and delivering Training of Trainers (ToT) or adult learning programs, including the development of trainer toolkits, is necessary. Experience in Lebanon is preferred.
