Job Purpose

The role involves managing project proposals, liaising with specialists, and evaluating technical proposals. A key aspect is serving as an EFMS focal point for Umoja Real Estate and Facilities Management, maintaining and updating real estate objects, lease records, and Assets Under Construction. The position aims to ensure the efficient and effective management of facilities and real estate assets to support mission operations.
Responsibilities
The Associate Engineer is responsible for planning and design activities, including applying engineering calculations for projects related to buildings, roads, and various infrastructure systems. This involves conducting site investigations, preparing design layouts, and generating cost estimates and budget projections. The role requires creating architectural and engineering drawings using AutoCAD, verifying site conditions, and converting historical drawings. In implementation, the engineer will develop technical specifications, analyze project proposals for feasibility, and collaborate with other specialists. Responsibilities also include evaluating technical proposals, recommending process improvements for Umoja Real Estate and Facilities Management, and applying standard engineering practices for construction and maintenance. Furthermore, the role involves acting as an EFMS focal point for Umoja, managing real estate objects, lease records, and Assets Under Construction, and generating relevant reports.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of progressive experience in engineering or related fields is required. Essential experience includes using AutoCAD for engineering/architectural drawings and managing facilities maintenance and/or construction projects. Experience with managing Assets Under Construction or Real Estate portfolios within an ERP system like Umoja is desirable.
