Job Purpose
The Communication Analyst (Community Manager) will support ONU-Habitat Mesoamerica's communication strategy by creating clear, informative content that highlights the organization's mandate. This role is crucial for enhancing visibility and engagement, particularly in addressing the complex urban challenges faced by Mexican cities. The analyst will contribute to mitigating negative urbanization effects and improving urban quality of life by effectively communicating ONU-Habitat's work and initiatives. The position is based in Mexico City for an expected duration of three months.
Responsibilities
The Communication Analyst will report to the Institutional Relations Coordinator and the Head of the ONU-Habitat Mesoamerica Office. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing social media strategies, designing digital and visual content for the website and projects, and conceptualizing campaigns for various platforms. The role involves producing and post-producing multimedia content, including editing videos and photos, creating motion graphics, and applying technical criteria for audio-visual quality. The analyst will manage and organize digital assets, cover events, and disseminate content across social media channels to maximize synergies and ensure coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of professional experience is required in institutional graphic and editorial design, audiovisual content production and editing, and developing communication materials for digital and print environments. Experience with motion graphics and basic-to-intermediate animation is also expected. Familiarity with UN systems is a plus.
Skills
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects). Experience in motion graphics and animation. Technical knowledge in lighting, framing, audiovisual narrative, and b-roll management. Understanding of print and digital file preparation. Strong oral and written communication skills in Spanish; English proficiency is an advantage. Ability to manage multiple projects, work collaboratively, and adapt to challenging environments.
