Job Purpose
This role will contribute to the CCAC's "Clean Air Flagship" initiative by developing a comprehensive Sectoral Guidance paper on clean heating. The expert will identify successful initiatives for replication and scale-up, and curate a minimum of 30 supporting resources for the AQMx online platform. This work aims to strengthen capacity for integrated air quality and climate planning, ultimately saving lives, improving well-being, slowing climate change, and maximizing co-benefits for agriculture and economic development.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibility is to draft an 8,000-word Sectoral Guidance paper on clean heating, offering concrete recommendations for program design and implementation, and highlighting replicable success stories. This includes identifying and curating at least 30 supporting resources (reports, publications, tools) for the AQMx platform. The role involves researching and presenting the impacts of polluting heating technologies, outlining data requirements, and detailing steps for program design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation, with a focus on Low- and Middle-Income Countries. Additionally, the expert will investigate relevant business models, financing options, and consider socio-economic equity, gender, and inclusion. Consultations with stakeholders and preparation of launch materials, including a PowerPoint presentation, are also required.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of professional/scientific experience in household energy and clean heating is required. This includes experience in research, practical implementation, understanding of clean heating projects, and collaboration with governments. Demonstrated experience with clean heating business models, report writing, and presentation delivery is also necessary. Experience in developing countries is desirable.
