National Consultant for Private Sector and Industry Ecosystem Mapping in the European Formulated Complementary Food Sector
Organizational Context
The International Trade Centre (ITC), a joint agency of the UN and WTO, focuses on sustainable trade promotion, particularly for developing countries. Its goal is to enhance business competitiveness, accelerate economic development, and contribute to the SDGs by creating jobs, especially for youth and women. This role is within the Women, Youth and Vulnerable Communities section.
Job Purpose
This consultancy supports the "Enhancing Skills and Enabling Financial Inclusion for Young Women in the Creative Economy" project, a 3-year initiative in Uganda. The role is crucial for programme performance tracking, partner reporting, data quality assurance, managing digital MEAL systems, and donor reporting across consortium partners. The objective is to advance gender-inclusive skills development, financial inclusion, and entrepreneurial growth in the creative sector, aligning with national development visions and contributing to job creation for young women.
Responsibilities
The consultant will provide digital MEAL system support, ensuring data quality and the system's day-to-day operation. This includes serving as a focal point between consortium partners and ITC, supporting data collection and curation, monitoring data quality issues, and testing system functionalities. Responsibilities also encompass tracking programme results against workplans and deliverables. Additionally, the consultant will offer technical support and capacity building to consortium partners on MEAL systems and reporting, maintain records of programme activities, and assist in preparing various programme reports, dashboards, and knowledge products. Coordination with project management and consortium partners is key to ensuring alignment and addressing issues.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in monitoring and evaluation, data management, programme reporting, or programme coordination is required, preferably within donor-funded programmes. Experience in project management and Monitoring & Evaluation is essential. Experience working in Uganda is also required. The ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including external agencies and consortium partners, is crucial.
Skills
Strong analytical, reporting, and data quality assurance skills. Ability to manage multiple reporting timelines and collaborate with consortium partners. Proficiency in project coordination, monitoring, and evaluation. Experience with digital data collection and management platforms is a plus. Knowledge of creative industries is also a plus.
