National Individual Contractor in Information Management
Organizational Context
The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in the Pacific region requires an Information Management Contractor. This role is based in Suva, Fiji, and will contribute to the 2026 Pacific Human Rights Situational Analysis Report by developing a comprehensive information management package. The contractor will work closely with human rights officers.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to develop and deliver a complete, high-quality information management package, including validated datasets, analytical outputs, and visual information products. This package will be fully integrated into the 2026 Pacific Human Rights Situational Analysis Report, providing essential support for evidence-based human rights analysis across Pacific Island Countries. The contractor will ensure the smooth transition of information tools and services, manage data effectively, and produce compelling visualisations to communicate key findings and storylines, ultimately enhancing the report's impact and utility for human rights advocacy and programming.
Responsibilities
The contractor will be responsible for several key tasks, beginning with inception and work planning, including briefing participation and reviewing background documents. They will design, develop, and populate spreadsheets and other data tools to support the analysis, consolidating operational information. Data management includes developing new data elements, advising on assessment design for data quality, and managing platforms like MS Lists, Teams, and PowerBI. A significant duty involves elaborating visual information products, such as charts, infographics, map visualizations, and snapshots, to convey messages effectively. Finally, the contractor will revise all content based on feedback, submit the complete package of deliverables, and ensure proper data storage, destruction, or archiving.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in information management, information systems, web management, data management, geographic information systems & mapping, or data visualization is required. Experience working in the Pacific region is also required. Experience within the UN common system or an international organization is desirable.
