Organizational Context
This consultancy supports the implementation of activities under the "Cooperation Agreement between the Republic of Korea and ECLAC: Programme 2026". The role contributes to the work of the Production, Productivity and Management Division of ECLAC, focusing on science, technology, innovation, technology extension, and entrepreneurship within Latin America and the Caribbean.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this consultancy is to provide programmatic and substantive support for the implementation and follow-up of ECLAC's work on science, technology, and innovation. The role will contribute to the Production, Productivity and Management Division's agenda by preparing technical reports, analytical products, and knowledge generation. Key contributions include supporting intergovernmental processes, organizing events, and implementing technical cooperation activities to advance productive development policies and innovation in the region.
Responsibilities
The consultant will organize and implement expert group meetings, policy dialogues, seminars, and regional workshops on science, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship. They will provide substantive support to intergovernmental processes, including preparing background documents and reports for the ECLAC Conference on Science, Innovation and ICT. The role involves contributing to analytical work and knowledge generation on productive development and innovation policies, supporting technical cooperation activities with diagnostic assessments and policy recommendations, and conducting research for publications. Participation in relevant meetings and administrative tasks are also expected.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in economic research and analysis, policy formulation, or applying economic principles in development programs is desirable. Prior experience in Latin American and Caribbean countries is also desirable. Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite are required.
