The role is crucial for tracking mitigation progress from detection to response. The Junior Program Support consultant will work within the MARS team, focusing on the system's notification, response, and mitigation components. Key contributions include maintaining essential trackers, templates, and content to ensure the workflow's efficiency and facilitate timely, accurate communication with government and operator stakeholders. The position is based in Paris for an expected duration of 12 months, reporting directly to the MARS Program Manager.

Maintaining MARS contact trackers for government Focal Points and UNEP Permanent Representatives, along with user access trackers for Eye on Methane INSIGHTS, is essential. The consultant will update MARS external communication templates and identify needs for new features on the Plume Viewer. Tracking progress across notification, feedback, and mitigation components, and monitoring key milestones are also required. Additionally, drafting MARS-related sections for IMEO donor reports and developing engaging content for stakeholder communications, reports, and presentations are part of the responsibilities. The role also includes tracking responses from governments and operators, preparing statistics on response rates, and tracking newly mitigated sources, drafting mitigation factsheets. Reviewing Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) for methane commitments and drafting Country Briefs are also included.
Work Experience
A minimum of 2 years of work experience is required with a Bachelor's degree, or at least one year of experience with a Master's degree. Experience related to methane emissions is desirable.
