Job Purpose
This internship aims to support the Passenger and Cargo Control Programme (PCCP) in its mission to counter illicit trafficking through enhanced risk analysis and detection technologies for cargo and passengers. The intern will contribute to research, document drafting, and data management, assisting the PCCP team in developing strategies and operational approaches. The role focuses on strengthening inter-agency cooperation and capacity building in Port Control Units and Air Cargo Control Units. By supporting these activities, the internship contributes to the UNODC's broader mandate of promoting security and justice globally, specifically by disrupting transnational organized crime and facilitating legitimate trade.
Responsibilities
The intern will conduct research on transnational organized crime, focusing on illicit trafficking and related topics, utilizing electronic resources. Responsibilities include assisting in drafting concept notes and background documents to inform programme strategies and operational planning. The intern will support the PCCP team with desk work, including fact-checking, editing, and proofreading documents. Additionally, the role involves aiding in the preparation of training materials, promotional content, social media updates, and website content. The intern will also be responsible for the efficient collection and organization of data, maintaining files according to established methods, and performing other assigned duties to support the programme's objectives.
