Organizational Context
The Information Integrity Team, within the UN Secretariat's Department of Global Communications, operates at the nexus of policy, research, and communications. Job Purpose
This role supports the Information Integrity Team in upholding and strengthening information integrity across online and offline spaces. The purpose is to contribute to emerging normative frameworks, actionable initiatives, coalition-building, and strategic communications. The incumbent will assist in developing tools and solutions for policymakers and practitioners to navigate evolving information risks, ensuring the UN's thematic priorities and operational mandates are supported through robust information integrity practices. The position is based in New York and is for an initial duration of six months.
Responsibilities
Provide general support for coordinating information integrity partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Offer logistical and administrative support for information integrity events and activities, including UN working groups and global networks, as well as capacity-building initiatives. Assist in researching and assessing risks to information integrity across various information spaces, including data collection, analysis, and reporting. Support the development and presentation of information integrity products like issue briefs, speeches, and online content. Monitor and track team tasks and projects, and maintain shared electronic files, databases, and mailing lists. Perform other administrative duties as required.
Work Experience
A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience is required. Experience should ideally encompass areas related to information integrity, policy, research, communications, or project support within an international organization or similar context.
Skills
Proficiency in English is required. Knowledge of another UN official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is desirable. Skills in research, data collection and analysis, reporting, event coordination, partnership support, and administrative tasks are essential.
