Job Purpose
This internship offers hands-on experience in a multilingual UN newsroom, focusing on producing news, feature stories, short-form videos, and multimedia content for Chinese-speaking audiences. The role contributes to the Department of Global Communications' mission of promoting UN ideals worldwide. Interns will gain practical skills in news drafting, translation, content creation, and editorial processes within a dynamic international environment, supporting the Unit's output across various media platforms.
Responsibilities
Draft Chinese news articles by integrating and translating information from UN reports, press releases, and official statements. Translate English video scripts, captions, and editorial content into Chinese. Proofread and fact-check Chinese-language content for accuracy before publication. Conduct background research and assist with editorial planning. Support the production of videos, social media content, and multimedia storytelling projects. Conduct interviews and assist with field reporting assignments. Film and edit short-form videos for social media. Assist with audience engagement and outreach activities. Participate in editorial meetings and contribute story ideas. Perform other assigned duties.
