CCAC SLCP Resource Mobilization Specialist (for Brazil)
Organizational Context
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) seeks an SLCP Resource Mobilization Specialist to support Brazil's Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (SQA/MMA) and its SLCP Unit. This role will develop and implement a resource mobilization strategy for Brazil's Short-Lived Climate Pollutants (SLCP) agenda, focusing on key emission sectors. The position is crucial for strengthening the sustainability and financing readiness of Brazil's SLCP initiatives within the CCAC Accelerator framework.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to provide expert technical and strategic support to Brazil's Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (SQA/MMA) and its SLCP Unit in developing and executing a comprehensive resource mobilization strategy. This involves identifying financing needs and opportunities across various SLCP emission sectors, engaging with national and international donors, and preparing compelling funding proposals and strategic materials. The Specialist will play a key role in enhancing the financial sustainability and scale-up potential of Brazil's SLCP agenda, ensuring alignment with national policies and the objectives of the CCAC Accelerator, thereby contributing to integrated climate and air quality solutions.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a resource mobilization strategy for Brazil's SLCP agenda, including specific strategies for the Clean Air and Climate Plan. Map and maintain an overview of potential donors and financing partners. Monitor donor priorities and funding opportunities, advising stakeholders on strategic options. Prepare and coordinate concept notes, project proposals, and donor briefings. Coordinate inputs from various teams and stakeholders for proposal development. Identify and advance strategic partnerships with donor agencies and financial institutions. Ensure alignment of resource mobilization efforts with national policy frameworks. Support the presentation of Brazil's SLCP agenda to donors and partners. Prepare reports on donor engagement, proposal development, and funding pipelines. Identify opportunities to scale up initiatives through donor engagement and South-South cooperation.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of progressive professional experience in resource mobilization, donor engagement, fundraising, partnership development, or project development is required. Demonstrated experience in identifying funding opportunities, preparing proposals, and engaging with diverse funding partners is essential. Experience in climate change or environmental programs is desirable.
