Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to serve as a CCAC TEAP Wastewater Technology Consultant, supporting the expansion of the CCAC-TEAP's work. The consultant will prepare a comprehensive techno-economic assessment report on a cluster of wastewater technologies. This report will analyze their potential for methane and other super pollutant mitigation, promote circular economy principles, and assess their viability as investment opportunities. The role contributes to turning SLCP reduction opportunities into practical actions with climate, health, and air quality benefits, particularly in developing countries.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibility is to prepare a techno-economic assessment report on wastewater technologies, focusing on methane and super pollutant mitigation and circular economy principles. This includes analyzing technology efficacy, implementation challenges, and costs (CAPEX/OPEX) across various contexts, especially in developing countries. The consultant will assess the investment viability of these technologies, identify necessary policy interventions, and propose solutions to overcome deployment barriers. The role also involves preparing a presentation of key findings, developing a decision tree for technology selection, and potentially creating a 'solution sheet'. Collaboration with the Communications Team for report design and ensuring technical accuracy is also required.
Work Experience
A minimum of 4 years of professional/scientific experience in wastewater management is required. At least 2 years of experience in research, practical implementation, or understanding of wastewater mitigation technologies is necessary. Demonstrated experience with wastewater business models, working in developing countries, and preparing waste management reports (authored/co-authored within the last 3 years) is also required. Experience engaging with the private sector is preferred.
