Job Purpose
The Information Management Intern will support the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Geneva by assisting with the monitoring and accuracy of information within the OCT system, ensuring compliance with agreements. The role involves contributing to the enhancement of grant management processes through drafting documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Additionally, the intern will support reporting on OCHA funding by gathering user requirements and assist the grant management unit with agreement processing, proposal reviews, and donor correspondence. This position provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in humanitarian information management and donor relations within a key UN agency.
Responsibilities
Assist in monitoring information within the OCT system to ensure data accuracy and compliance with agreements. Draft documentation and SOPs to enhance grant management cycle processes and OCT system functionalities. Gather user requirements for improving OCT reporting on OCHA funding. Support the grant management unit by processing agreement grants, reviewing proposals, and following up on unpaid pledges. Draft and handle official correspondence with donors. Conduct research and present information on specific topics. Assist with various analyses related to donor contributions to OCHA.
Work Experience
No professional work experience is required for this internship. However, a capacity to review large volumes of information in Excel format is desirable. Familiarity with standard software applications, including Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams, is required.
