The officer also verifies proper authorization and documentation for the removal of any UN equipment or supplies from the compound. The role requires continuous vigilance through patrols of the area of responsibility, meticulously recording and reporting all safety and security violations or observations. Furthermore, the Security Officer provides essential support to the Security Operations Centre and is tasked with responding to safety and security emergencies in strict accordance with standing operating procedures, applicable policies, and security plans. They ensure all offices, stores, meeting rooms, and gates within their area of responsibility are secured at all times, and perform other security-related duties as assigned by the Chief SSS.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of experience in a civilian police force, military, or security-related field is required. Prior experience within the UN system or an international organization is desirable.
Skills
Required: Fluency in English. Desirable: Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), supplemental security management or related training. Other requirements include a willingness to undergo physical training in control and restraint techniques.
