The United Nations Technology Bank for the Least Developed Countries (UNTB), funded by the Government of Türkiye, is implementing the "TechBridge: Building SME Capacity in LDCs" project. This initiative aims to enhance the digital readiness and resilience of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Least Developed Countries (LDCs), fostering inclusive economic growth, job creation, and participation in the digital economy.
Job Purpose
This role is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of a comprehensive SME Digitalization Training Programme under the TechBridge project. The purpose is to equip at least 100 SMEs from participating LDCs with essential digital skills and knowledge. By providing practical guidance on digital transformation, entrepreneurship, and the adoption of digital tools, the programme aims to improve SME competitiveness, productivity, resilience, and their ability to engage effectively in the digital economy, ultimately contributing to sustainable economic transformation in LDCs.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include planning and inception, involving the preparation of an Inception Report detailing methodology, curriculum, delivery approach, and workplan. Ongoing coordination and reporting with UNTB are essential. The role involves conducting a desk review of relevant SME digitalization programs and best practices to inform curriculum design. Development of the training curriculum, online modules, presentations, practical exercises, and supporting materials is crucial. The consultant will deliver the online training program and facilitate live virtual workshops for at least 100 SMEs. Monitoring, evaluation, and adaptation of training based on feedback and lessons learned are required. Finally, the consultant will prepare a comprehensive Final Training Programme Report.
Work Experience
A minimum of eight years of professional experience in SME digitalization, digital transformation, entrepreneurship development, innovation ecosystems, or ICT for development is required. Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering online training programs, mentorship, or capacity-building initiatives for SMEs is essential. Experience engaging with SMEs, support organizations, and public institutions is also required.
