Organizational Context
The UN Office for Partnerships (UN Partnerships) serves as the UN system's gateway for co-creating partnerships to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It convenes stakeholders and leverages initiatives to support the Decade of Action. This role supports UNOP initiatives and reports to the Chief of Service for Advocacy and Outreach.
Job Purpose
This role is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive communication and social media strategies to promote UNOP's goals and campaigns. The purpose is to strengthen the office's online and offline presence, ensure consistent messaging, and create compelling content that effectively reaches targeted audiences. The incumbent will manage social media platforms, analyze performance, and identify trends to enhance visibility and engagement, contributing to the UN's broader objectives.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute communication and social media strategies aligned with UNOP's goals. Create, schedule, and publish engaging content across platforms, and design visually appealing materials like infographics and social media graphics. Monitor and analyze social media performance, generating reports on reach and engagement. Identify and leverage trends, hashtags, and online conversations. Develop high-quality communications materials, including press releases and articles, and edit/proofread content. Advise management on current events and public opinion. Produce various information products, coordinate with stakeholders for cross-promotion, and stay updated on digital communication trends and best practices.
Work Experience
A minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in communications, journalism, or public information is required. Experience in producing engaging digital content for diverse audiences and developing/executing multi-platform social media strategies is essential. Experience analyzing social media metrics and audience insights is desired.
