Organizational Context
The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) in Bangkok seeks an intern for its Trade, Investment and Innovation Division, specifically within the Trade Policy and Facilitation Section. This section focuses on trade policy, facilitation, and emerging trade issues, serving as secretariat for a UN treaty and organizing regional dialogues.
Job Purpose
This internship offers a junior-level candidate an opportunity to gain practical experience in media and communications within an international development context. The role supports the visibility and outreach of the Trade Policy and Facilitation Section by assisting with communications activities for policy events, publications, websites, and public information materials. The intern will contribute to enhancing the section's communication efforts to reach policymakers, partners, and the public, gaining exposure to UN communication strategies and international trade policy.
Responsibilities
Support the preparation and promotion of meetings, workshops, and regional events, including creating communication materials. Develop visually appealing outreach content such as flyers, brochures, and banners. Assist in designing and formatting publications, reports, and presentations for clarity and visual consistency. Capture photography and short video content during events and produce visual summaries. Contribute to the media and outreach strategy, identifying methods to improve communication with stakeholders. Support the review and enhancement of website content for user-friendliness and engagement. Draft inputs for public information materials, news items, and press releases. Assist with knowledge management by organizing communication assets and event materials.
Work Experience
