The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) serves as the UN headquarters in Africa, supporting the implementation of UNEP and UN-Habitat programs globally. Job Purpose
This 6-month, full-time, unpaid internship within the Talent Development Unit at UNON aims to provide practical experience in global internship management and human resources support. The intern will assist in various HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, file maintenance, and reporting, contributing to the efficient operation of the unit and supporting the UN's mission. This role offers exposure to HR data analytics and mandatory learning coordination, fostering professional development in a dynamic international environment.
Responsibilities
Provide support for the global internship management process, including maintaining files, materials, and schedules. Assist in the induction and exit processes for national and international interns. Support the job opening process by screening applicants and coordinating interviews. Manage email correspondence and prepare contract renewal documents. Conduct research and prepare reports, studies, and correspondence. Assist with HR data analytics, presenting findings using data visualization techniques. Support the coordination of mandatory staff learning and training certification processes. Participate in meetings and undertake other assigned tasks.
Work Experience
Professional work experience is not required for this internship. However, applicants must be pursuing or have completed a relevant university degree. A field of study closely related to Human Resources Management or Administration is required. Excellent computer and IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite, are essential.
