Job Purpose

The intern will support ODA's mission by assisting with research, document preparation, and logistical support for meetings and conferences. This role contributes to the UN's efforts in disarmament and related security initiatives, offering practical experience in international affairs and policy support within a key UN department.
Responsibilities
The Political Affairs Intern will support the Conventional Arms Branch (CAB) of the Office for Disarmament Affairs (ODA). Key duties include drafting official documents such as summaries, talking points, speeches, remarks, and web content. The intern will also attend meetings and conferences, preparing concise summaries of discussions and outcomes. Research activities will involve document, media, and internet searches to gather relevant information. Additionally, the intern will provide both substantive and logistical support for meetings and conferences, and perform other related duties as required to support the Branch's operations.
Work Experience
Professional work experience is not required for this internship. However, candidates must be pursuing or have completed a degree in a relevant field. The internship is designed for students or recent graduates to gain practical experience.
