Job Purpose
This consultancy role within UNEP's Sustainable Mobility Unit (SMU) aims to support the Global Electric Mobility Programme, the DELIVER-E Coalition, and gender-related activities. The consultant will contribute to accelerating the transition to zero-emission transport by developing communication strategies, coordinating coalition activities, and integrating gender-responsive approaches. Key contributions include developing reports on delivery modalities, creating case studies on zero-emission delivery, producing outreach materials, and supporting event organization. The role also involves managing gender data collection and contributing to website development for electric mobility initiatives, ultimately enhancing air quality and mitigating climate change in low- and middle-income countries.
Responsibilities
Develop a report defining various delivery modalities (e.g., 3PL, self-delivery) for consistent understanding within the Deliver-E Coalition. Create six case studies on zero-emission food and grocery delivery, highlighting lessons learned. Produce four outreach and communication products for Deliver-E activities. Develop a communications plan and launch concept for the Deliver-E Baseline Assessment. Propose a Deliver-E Coalition event for COP31 and conceptualize a zero-emission delivery city guidebook. Create a communications booklet for the UNEP Global Electric Mobility Programme and implement a communication campaign to showcase programme activities and impacts. Support the organization of two gender-focused events and maintain/update gender data collection and databases. Assist in updating the Global Electric Mobility Programme website and support the development of webtools and webpages related to used EVs and battery circularity.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of work experience in transport projects is required. This includes strong research experience in transport issues and experience in report development. Familiarity with transport planning frameworks and transport modelling is highly desirable, as are proven analytical, presentation, and communication skills.
