Job Purpose
The Senior Cybersecurity Operations role is responsible for managing and enhancing the organization's cybersecurity posture, with a specific focus on vulnerability management and incident response. This position plays a critical part in safeguarding UNRWA's digital assets, intellectual property, sensitive data, and reputation by proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating cyber threats. The role involves coordinating remediation efforts, supporting Security Operations Center (SOC) activities, and providing strategic risk guidance to IT projects. By ensuring alignment with security policies and continuous improvement, the position contributes to minimizing risks and maintaining the integrity of UNRWA's operations and services for Palestine refugees.
Responsibilities
The role encompasses comprehensive vulnerability management, including aggregating, analyzing, and prioritizing vulnerabilities from various sources like scans and threat intelligence. It involves performing risk-based triage, coordinating remediation with IT teams, tracking progress, and maintaining relevant metrics and reports. In incident handling, the position actively supports SOC operations by monitoring security tools, triaging alerts, executing playbooks, performing IOC lookups, documenting incidents, and escalating complex cases. The role also focuses on governance and continuous improvement, ensuring alignment with security policies, identifying systemic weaknesses, reporting on trends, providing strategic risk guidance for IT projects, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Additionally, it involves performing technical security assessments and supporting users with daily security requests.
Work Experience
A minimum of six years of relevant professional experience is required, with demonstrated expertise in vulnerability management. Experience in Security Operations Center (SOC), systems and infrastructure management, and/or application security is also necessary. Knowledge of Palestine refugees or humanitarian response in the Middle East context is desirable.
Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, technical expertise in cybersecurity, service orientation, ability to establish effective working relations, commitment to continuous learning, and adherence to instructions and procedures. Proficiency in English and Arabic is required.
