Additionally, the position is responsible for maintaining an updated contact list for key stakeholders and facilitating travel arrangements for senior management, including drafting special flight requests and formal correspondence. The purpose is to ensure smooth diplomatic relations and operational support for the mission's leadership.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include supporting engagement with de facto authorities on protocol matters, such as privileges and immunities, through coordination, documentation, and follow-up. The role involves participating in the organization of meetings, ceremonies, and events hosted by senior leadership, managing invitation cards, seating arrangements, and logistics. Maintaining an up-to-date contact list for host country authorities, diplomatic missions, and international organizations is essential. The Assistant Protocol Officer will liaise with travel and aviation sections to facilitate trips for senior staff and arrange meetings with local authorities. Drafting special flight requests and other formal correspondence, such as Notes Verbales, and ensuring their appropriate distribution and follow-up are also key duties. The role may encompass other related tasks as required.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in international affairs is required. Experience in knowledge management, program planning, policy development, or problem analysis is desirable.
