The UNEP Law Division implements environmental law, governance, and policy, including multilateral environmental agreements. UNEP is an Implementing Agency of the Multilateral Fund for the Montreal Protocol, and OzonAction provides support to countries through its Compliance Assistance Programme.
Job Purpose
This role supports OzonAction's communication and outreach activities, focusing on developing and delivering materials for key campaigns and events. The purpose is to enhance the visibility and impact of OzonAction's work, particularly concerning the Montreal Protocol and sustainable cooling initiatives. The consultant will contribute to engaging various stakeholders, including National Ozone Officers, young women, and the public, through diverse communication channels and materials, ensuring timely and successful execution of outreach strategies.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement communication packages for the International Network of Women in Cooling (INWIC), including media campaigns and visual content. Provide communications support for World Ozone Day, including awards, information notes, and publications like OzoNews. Enhance the visual design and user experience of the OzonAction Documents Portal and update training materials. Support communication campaigns for MOP-38 and the Kigali 10th anniversary, including fact sheets, exhibition updates, and enforcement material launches. Conduct media outreach and strategic pitching for key events. Lead the production of a video series, 'From Policy to Practice,' showcasing project success stories. Develop and execute communication campaigns for International Customs Day and International Women’s Day.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of progressive professional experience in communications, marketing, or international development is required. Demonstrated experience in conceptualizing, designing, and implementing international communication campaigns, preferably for UN entities, is essential. Familiarity with the Montreal Protocol is required. Experience in analytics, report writing, and meeting organization is desirable.
