Training Analyst Intern
Organizational Context
The United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) in Valencia, Spain, provides critical technology services and training to UN peacekeeping and special political missions globally. This internship is within the Technology Development Unit (TDU) of the Service for Geospatial, Information and Telecommunications Technologies (SGITT). The intern will support projects aimed at enhancing training capabilities for these missions.
Job Purpose
This internship aims to support the Digital Technology Training Development project within the UNGSC's Technology Development Unit. The role will contribute to strengthening training capabilities for Peacekeeping and Special Political Missions by developing high-quality, learner-centered digital and blended training programs. The intern will gain practical experience in instructional design, learning needs assessment, and content development, ultimately enhancing operational effectiveness through modern learning solutions. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to significant UNGSC projects and learn about the broader United Nations system.
Responsibilities
Support learning needs assessments and curriculum design through stakeholder consultations, interviews, and data collection. Assist in job and task analysis to identify required knowledge, skills, and competencies for target audiences. Develop, review, and revise learning content and materials, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and alignment with learning objectives. Apply adult learning strategies and instructional design principles to create engaging training materials. Support the use of multimedia tools and formats to enhance learner engagement and retention. Contribute to the design of blended learning programs, including e-learning and instructor-led training. Assist in testing and quality assurance of courses and learning materials. Support the collection and analysis of data to assess learning effectiveness and identify learning needs. Document and present findings from learning needs analyses for internal reporting.
Work Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study closely related to the internship is required. Proficiency in standard software applications (MS Word, PowerPoint, Teams) is necessary. Ability to draft professional emails and organize meetings is desirable.
