Job Purpose

This role provides a valuable learning opportunity in international peace and security communications, allowing the intern to gain practical experience in content creation, campaign support, and communication material development within a dynamic UN environment.
Responsibilities
The intern will support social media campaigns, including content creation, preparation of presentations, and event organization. Duties involve researching, compiling, drafting, and editing information for social media content, often under tight deadlines. Responsibilities include formatting content, drafting abstracts and summaries, and creating resource guides. The intern will also assist with proofreading, web searches for relevant information, and editing messages, biographies, reports, and articles. Monitoring and analyzing social media statistics, gathering content at events, and assisting in the creation of original content for various social media platforms are key tasks. Additionally, the intern will attend meetings, manage agendas, and draft meeting notes, while also assisting with special projects as assigned.
Work Experience
Professional work experience is not required for this internship. However, applicants must be students in the final year of a bachelor's, master's, or PhD program, or have completed such a program. A field of study closely related to the internship is necessary.
Skills
Proficiency in standard software applications (MS Word, PowerPoint, MS Teams). Ability to draft news articles and social media posts is desirable. Experience with survey and poll design is also desirable. Fluency in English is required; knowledge of another official UN language is an asset.
