Organizational Context

This position is within the Enterprise Risk Management Section of the Accountability Service, part of the Business Transformation and Accountability Division (BTAD) within the Department of Management Strategy, Policy and Compliance (DMSPC). The role's primary focus is to support the global implementation of enterprise risk management across the Secretariat. The incumbent reports to the Senior Management and Programme Analyst.

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to provide essential assistance in the planning and implementation of enterprise risk management (ERM) activities across the UN Secretariat. This involves supporting the ERM framework, researching and analyzing risk registers, and coordinating the implementation of the ERM application within the Umoja (SAP) GRC module. The role also includes acting as a system administrator for third-party access, assisting with reporting requirements, and liaising with various organizational units to ensure smooth project implementation. Additionally, the incumbent will manage program/project data, prepare reports, and draft correspondence related to administrative and budgetary matters, contributing to effective risk management and program oversight.

Responsibilities

Provide assistance in planning and implementing the enterprise risk management (ERM) framework. Research, compile, and summarize analyses of Secretariat-wide risk registers and related documents for stakeholder dissemination. Coordinate the planning and implementation of the ERM application within the Umoja (SAP) GRC module, including monitoring rollout and supporting basic testing. Collaborate with project managers on data updates, performance reporting, and entity support during ERM application deployment. Serve as a system administrator for third-party access to the ERM application and as a security liaison assistant. Assist with reporting requirements, guidelines, and procedures for ERM implementation, ensuring data accuracy. Support the Section's activities in defining and implementing a comprehensive ERM framework. Assist in monitoring and evaluating programmes/projects, analyzing data, and preparing budget revisions and expenditure reports. Coordinate and expedite programme/project implementation activities, liaising with diverse units to resolve issues. Prepare, maintain, and update files and databases, generating reports and statistical tables. Draft correspondence and communications related to programme/project administration, work plans, and budgets. Assist with data collection, analysis, presentation, and reporting for information sharing and decision-making. Update information materials such as web pages or brochures.

Work Experience

A minimum of seven years of experience in programme or project administration, technical cooperation, or a related area is required. This requirement is reduced to five years for candidates with a first-level university degree or higher. Experience with international enterprise risk management implementation, supporting ERM processes via system-based tools (e.g., Umoja/SAP), and in data handling/reporting is desirable.
