Organizational Context
The United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) is a UN entity focused on crime prevention and criminal justice support globally. The Training and Advanced Education (TAE) Cluster designs and implements training programs, including post-graduate and capacity-building courses. This internship is within the TAE Cluster in Turin.
Job Purpose
This internship within UNICRI's Training and Advanced Education (TAE) Cluster in Turin aims to support the design and implementation of training programs related to crime prevention and criminal justice. The role will assist in managing post-graduate programs, including LL.M. courses, by supporting application processes, online and in-person activities, participant communication, and administrative tasks. The intern will contribute to the efficient operation of the TAE Cluster's educational initiatives, helping to advance UNICRI's mission of fostering just and efficient criminal justice systems worldwide.
Responsibilities
Support the filing and screening of applications for Master of Laws (LL.M.) programs in Global Criminal Justice and Accountability, and Cybercrime, Cybersecurity, and International Law. Assist in the implementation of online activities for the LL.M. in Cybercrime, Cybersecurity, and International Law. Support the organization and execution of in-person workshops for the same LL.M. program. Provide information to current and prospective participants of the TAE Cluster's training programs. Assist in drafting and preparing various documents, including correspondence, reports, issue briefs, and presentations. Aid in data collection and maintaining databases for LL.M. programs. Perform other related duties as assigned to support the TAE Cluster's operations.
Work Experience
No professional work experience is required for this internship. However, a field of study closely related to the internship's focus is necessary. Interns are responsible for their own travel, visa, accommodation, and living expenses.
Skills
Fluency in spoken and written English is required. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an asset. Skills in data collection, database maintenance, administrative support, and document preparation are beneficial.
