Job Purpose
The Finance Intern will support the UNRWA Finance team with a broad spectrum of financial processes, including daily operations, accounts division tasks, and financial data analysis. The role involves assisting with month-end and year-end closing activities, account reconciliation, data compilation, and reviewing supporting documents for accuracy and completeness. The intern will contribute to system development, process improvement initiatives, and the implementation of internal controls. Additionally, the position supports the creation of training materials, drafting financial reports, and preparing presentations and dashboards for stakeholders, offering significant learning opportunities in finance and process improvement.
Responsibilities
Support the finance team with daily operations and a wide range of finance processes, interacting with colleagues at HQ and field offices. Assist the Accounts Division with various tasks, including financial data analysis, month-end and year-end closing activities, and account reconciliation. Review supporting documents to ensure completeness and accuracy. Contribute to system development and process improvement initiatives, and assist in implementing and monitoring internal controls. Develop training materials and guidance notes. Draft and review financial and analytical reports, meeting minutes, and participate in preparing financial reports, presentations, and dashboards for stakeholders. Collaborate on special projects, including process improvement, data analysis, and policy development, ensuring timely and efficient task delivery.
Work Experience
No prior working experience is required for this internship. The focus is on the applicant's training, education, advanced coursework, or skills that can benefit the UN. Specialization in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration is desirable.
