The role also involves leading budget implementation, managing financial resources effectively, and ensuring compliance with UN financial policies. Additionally, the officer oversees procurement, travel, vendor contracts, office space, and technology needs, providing guidance and leadership to junior staff to support the office's mandate and programmatic goals.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include Human Resource Management, coordinating recruitment, onboarding, performance appraisals, and staff well-being, ensuring adherence to UN procedures. In Budget and Finance, the role involves leading work program implementation, managing financial resources, improving budget reporting systems, and ensuring accounting controls align with UN policy. General Administration encompasses overseeing procurement, billing, travel programs, vendor contract management, and assessing office space and technology requirements. The officer also provides guidance and leadership to junior staff and performs other related administrative duties as required.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of progressive experience in administration, finance, accounting, or human resources is required. Experience in providing administrative and HR support, managing budgets, and implementing UN administrative/financial policies is necessary. Experience with ERP systems like Umoja and data analytics is desirable.
