Organizational Context
The Asian and Pacific Centre for Transfer of Technology (APCTT), part of the UN Secretariat's Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), is based in New Delhi, India. Job Purpose
This internship aims to support the implementation of APCTT's substantive work programme by assisting staff with research, event organization, and knowledge management. The role will contribute to developing regional platforms for technology transfer, focusing on areas like climate technologies, renewable energy, and artificial intelligence. The intern will gain practical experience in international cooperation, sustainable development initiatives, and UN operations within the Asia-Pacific region, enhancing their understanding of national innovation systems and policy advice delivery to member states.
Responsibilities
The intern will conduct research and literature reviews on technology transfer, climate technologies, innovation systems, renewable energy, AI, and sustainable development. Responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of research papers, policy briefs, and analytical reports. The intern will also support the planning and organization of webinars and workshops, including logistics and follow-up. Additional duties involve identifying and mapping potential collaborators, monitoring science, technology, and innovation policy developments, and supporting knowledge management functions. Researching the landscape of technology transfer offices in the Asia-Pacific region is also a key task.
Work Experience
While professional work experience is not required, candidates must be computer literate in standard software applications. Familiarity with science, technology, innovation, renewable energy, climate change, and artificial intelligence is desirable. Data handling skills and proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel) are advantageous. Experience in community management, event coordination, or academic research is considered a plus.

Web-based research, digital content creation, excellent written communication, networking skills, proficiency in MS Office, Canva, and AI tools, familiarity with AI tools and social media platforms, understanding of climate technologies, sustainable development, and science & technology topics.
