Organizational Context
The Asian and Pacific Centre for Transfer of Technology (APCTT), part of the UN Secretariat's Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), is based in New Delhi. APCTT focuses on developing and promoting regional technology transfer mechanisms, particularly for emerging technologies. This internship supports the Centre's work programme and communication strategies.
Job Purpose
This internship aims to support the implementation of APCTT's substantive work programme and communication strategies. The role will contribute to developing and promoting regional technology transfer mechanisms, organizing knowledge-sharing events, and producing communication materials. The intern will assist ESCAP member States in areas like climate change, innovation, and sustainable development, enhancing the Centre's visibility and impact. This position offers a valuable learning opportunity to understand national innovation systems, regional cooperation, and UN operations in developing countries.
Responsibilities
The intern will support APCTT's work programme by designing and producing communication materials (flyers, posters, infographics, social media visuals) using tools like Canva and Adobe Suite. Responsibilities include drafting and editing content for the APCTT website, newsletters, and social media channels. The role involves producing short promotional videos, preparing presentations, and contributing ideas to enhance the technology database. Additionally, the intern will assist in organizing events such as Hackathons and conferences, manage knowledge management functions, and support outreach activities for regional forums.
Work Experience
Required experience includes a good understanding of climate technologies, sustainable development, and/or science & technology topics. Candidates should have experience in web-based research and digital content creation. Excellent written communication and networking skills are essential. Proficiency in standard software applications (MS Office, Canva, AI tools) and familiarity with social media platforms are also required.
