Organizational Context

Job Purpose
The purpose of this internship is to provide students and recent graduates with practical experience in international trade and development, focusing on fundraising and partnerships within UNCTAD's Division on International Trade and Commodities. The intern will support strategic initiatives, conduct research, assist in proposal development, and engage with potential donors and partners. This role contributes to UNCTAD's mandate by strengthening its resource mobilization efforts and fostering collaborative relationships to advance its objectives in trade and development. Responsibilities
Support the implementation of the DITC fundraising strategy and related outreach activities. Conduct research and analysis on donor priorities, funding trends, calls for proposals, and partnership opportunities. Monitor and screen potential donors, including Member States, development banks, foundations, private sector partners, and philanthropic organizations. Contribute to the preparation, drafting, and review of concept notes, project proposals, donor briefs, and partnership documents. Support the preparation of fundraising pitches, presentations, and talking points for meetings with donors and partners. Assist in organizing meetings with existing and prospective donors and partners. Prepare meeting summaries, briefing notes, and follow-up actions from donor and partner engagements. Support the development and maintenance of the Division's fundraising tracker and donor database. Perform other related duties as required and undertake on-the-job training.

No professional work experience is required for this internship. However, a field of study closely related to the internship is necessary. Applicants must meet the educational criteria of being enrolled in or having completed a relevant university degree program.
