The UN Secretariat, specifically UNRWA's Information Management department in Headquarters Amman, is seeking a Business Analyst Consultant. This role is crucial for supporting the implementation and delivery of the FMIS project, operating within the Digital Impact, Technology and Innovation Department (DITID). The consultancy is based in Amman, Jordan, for an expected duration of 9 months.
Job Purpose
The Business Analyst Consultant will provide essential support for the successful implementation and delivery of the FMIS project. This involves ensuring high-quality business requirements documentation, assisting in solution design and implementation, and coordinating effectively with stakeholders and technical teams. The role also encompasses supporting testing phases, user acceptance, and training activities, as well as delivering comprehensive project documentation and reporting. Ultimately, the purpose is to contribute to the successful deployment and stabilization of the FMIS project, ensuring it meets business needs and operational requirements within UNRWA.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive business analysis to gather and document detailed business requirements, including BRDs, functional specifications, workflows, and process diagrams. Coordinate effectively with business stakeholders, developers, and technical teams to ensure accurate requirement interpretation and implementation. Assist in project planning, monitoring, and coordination. Support solution design discussions and implementation activities, defining system workflows, validation rules, reporting requirements, and dashboards. Participate in testing phases (SIT, UAT) and defect management. Validate data migration and business verification. Develop user manuals, training materials, and conduct training sessions. Support project governance, progress tracking, and status reporting. Coordinate with external vendors and ensure compliance with UNRWA IMT standards and project management frameworks.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of 4 years of experience in web application development using ASP.NET/.NET Core and MS SQL Server. Experience in enterprise application development and implementation, developing APIs and integrations, and working with relational databases is essential. Familiarity with deployment environments and DevOps practices is desirable, as is experience with GIS integrations and dashboards.
