The UN Secretariat, specifically UNRWA's Information Management - Headquarters Amman, is seeking an ASP.NET Developer. This role is part of the Digital Impact, Technology and Innovation Department (DITID) and the digital workspace initiative. The position is based in Amman, Jordan, and will operate under the supervision of the Head of Software Development Section.
Job Purpose
The ASP.NET Developer will provide crucial support for the implementation and delivery of the FMIS project. This involves building and maintaining application modules, developing various organizational and management modules, and creating backend services and integrations. The role is essential for ensuring the successful deployment, stabilization, and ongoing functionality of the FMIS system, contributing directly to the technological advancements within UNRWA's Headquarters in Amman. The developer will also be responsible for technical support, bug fixing, and ensuring application quality and compliance.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include building and maintaining FMIS application modules using ASP.NET/.NET Core and related Microsoft technologies. This involves developing modules for organizational hierarchy, premises management, project management, dashboards, reporting, and GIS integration. The role also encompasses developing backend services, APIs, and system integrations. Providing daily technical support, analyzing business requirements, and conducting bug fixing, troubleshooting, optimization, and quality assurance are critical. The developer will review code for security and performance, support deployment and release activities, and prepare technical documentation. Participation in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and collaboration with stakeholders are also key duties.
Work Experience
A minimum of 4 years of experience in web application development using ASP.NET/.NET Core and MS SQL Server is required. Experience in enterprise application development, implementation, and developing APIs and integrations is essential. Familiarity with deployment environments and DevOps practices is desirable, and experience with GIS integrations and dashboards is an asset.
